A£350k shed?

Yes, 350,000 is the asking price for the as yet unbuilt two bed timber and glass shed they're calling a 21st century eco marvel. A lot of public money has already been spent acquiring the site, The Old Fire Station, doing nothing to restore its exterior and creating an so-called eco-station with nothing at all inside, so far, despite announcements to the contrary by our much beloved Council.

So if you would like to live on the busy corner site at the junction of the A325 and Station Road, next door to a behemoth former fire station, cheek by jowl with an as yet unplanned eco-terrace and have the odd £350k to spare put your name down now to avoid disappointment. Want to know what it will look like?  I've seen lots of eco-house designs but never one as dull and boring as this.  Google some for yourself if you don't believe me.  Has someone been paid a lot of dosh to pull the wool over the eyes of councillors already blinded by their determination to sell this rubbish as making the tiniest difference to global warming or our quality of life?

Oh, and while we're on the subject of housing, I hear that the barracks blocks which line the west side of the High Street just a stone's throw from the "eco station" probably the most ghastly housing in the whole district are being sold off privately.  Not demolished to make way for award winning 21st century eco-homes, not refurbished or face lifted or given a high tech energy efficiency treatment. Just sold off, to reamain a huge "up yours" landmark introduction to Bordon, "the gateway to the South Downs National Park." Is anyone looking or listening to the voices crying out  "This is the real future of Bordon?"
